DVD Direct 1.6

DVD Direct main goal is to be an alround DVD player with a real simple interface, no docking navigation panels but still has all the power and functions right at your fingertips control, all from a context menu option or as shortcut accelerator keys and there are really not much to show of, as DV only has the player module, a dropdown menu, a preferences interface and all the shortcut accelerators - BUT A LOT OF SPEED AND POWER to a docking Dvd player window or a movie in fullview...

DVD Direct is build around activex objects embedded into autoit3 and uses Directshow rev. 8 or higher and also MSWebDVD objects implimentated with WinXP rev 1 but should be useable with Win2K/NT if users install these libraries in the system and activate these objects in the requester base...

This MSWebDVD is offen called 'Poor mans dvdplayer' as it comes free of charges from microsoft but on the other hand has some drawbacks that was corrected in the later MSVidDVD object that unfortually do not come free of charges but is part of the MS Medie Center...

The Medie format is currently the .VOB ( DVD ). This component is available for use in the Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 operating systems. It may be altered or unavailable in subsequent versions....

Note: As MSWebDVD is part of DirectX 9.0b system, the object loads only in trusted zones., it will not load in non-trusted zones...

Options available:

Play: Search for dvd disks in devices starting search from next to C: path and starts playing the dvd menu ( if bookmark is available from this location on the movie )

Pause: Toggle the movie on /off on location - correspond also directly with the resume function that will display the movie main menu

Stop: Stop the playback - correspond directly with Play ( from bookmark if available ) or resume that move player to the startof the movie...

Fast Forward: Plays the movie fast forward ( x4 )

Reverse Play: Plays the movie Reverse ( x2 )

Eject: Toggle the dvd device open / close...

Search: Move between Titles and chapters search sub menus...

BookMark: Toggle the bookmark option on / off - if bookmark is available at start of a movie, playback starts from this bookmark location, if bookmark is on at application quit a new bookmark location gets written - bookmarks is attached to the uniqe movie ID and get wiped if this do not match...

AutoPlay: If this option is activated the Digital Visision do a dvd disk search at startup and if the movie gets exchanged this will also autostart...

Render Filter: Method to enable underlying DirectShow filter graph on startup. This eliminates the slight delay that otherwise occurs when the user issues the first command to play a disc...

Audio: Activate the volume, balance and mute control...

Display: Control what window model and in what mode the display should be as well as the zoom controls...

Preferences: open the preferences window where one can change some default settings like what device to look for dvd movies...

Topics: Display this help documentation

about: Open the about window with informations on system requirements and a link to application homepage ...

Language: Change current language if a TerraTec language filetype is available...

Quit: Quit the application right on - no warning ( if bookmark is activated this mark gets updated )

Note: Some of the menus get disabled when there are no dvd available in the default device/drive, just put in a dvd and 'DVD Direct' do a search and if available and autostart is activated this starts playing - beaware that the loading process could take up a little time, also available is the ability to create multi bookmarks related to every uniqe DVD...
