Refresh Desktop

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to find a way to refresh the desktop but I'm not having luck... The part that annoys me is that I remember reading it somewhere on these forums but I don't remember where...

Just a side question: Is that what F5 does if you push when the desktop is active?

Any help appreciated!

Pressing F5 while the desktop is active does refresh somethings - does it do what you need it to do?

It does but is there a way you can set the desktop to active? I don't really want to run 'showdesktop' thing and then send F5, but if there was a way I could do by just setting the desktop to active and then sending F5 that would be fine... The problem is I don't know the window name for the desktop... if it exists...

Don't bother, It's inside your monitor!------GUISetOnEvent should behave more like HotKeySet()

Pressing F5 is not always the best solution, try this one:

Opt("WinTitleMatchMode", 4)
$hWnd = WinGetHandle("classname=Progman")
DllCall("user32.dll", "long", "SendMessage", "hwnd", $hWnd, "int", 0x111, "int", 28931, "int", 0)

This also will work on any(?) explorer window.

Edit: And with this method you not need to activate the desktop

Although it's a bit late, thanks... This works good because the activating the desktop was messing my program a little...
