getting around the IE information bar

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm using the _IEAction function to click button on a form page. That button is supposed to open a saveas dialog box to download the file. However, even though the ie popup blocker is turned off, the information bar pops up at the top and asking if you want to download the file. Has anyone experienced this with IE functions? And if so, is there a workaround to avoid it?

The script works fine if I use the mouse to click the button, or use the keyboard, but when using this metod, the security bar pops up. Thanks for your help.

ok, have you tried to get a ID on the button in question? Use the AutoIt window info tool

From the view of the source code, the name of the button is "btnExcel". It finds the button just fine, but then the information bar pops up to prevent the download box from opening. I think this has more to do with the IE security options than anything, and I way not have a way around it since this is a work computer and I don't have access to the security tab in IE.
