is AutoIT suitable for this?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I has been a long time since I've had the need to create exe files (I usually just work on web scripting).

My task is to create a self-contained exe file which will start on system load and run in the background. The script needs to send out a URL request every 30 minutes. If the request returns a message, I need to pop up that message on the screen (with a ok button to close it).

Is AutoIt suitable for this kind of thing?

If so, is there any sample code which does task of the above (i.e. run in background, send URL request or pop a message box)

Many Thanks,

Stuart
