Launch URL but using specific browser?

Recommended Posts

I use Portable Firefox even at the office. The code that I recvd from a previous post a long time ago to launch a URL is like this where we just have to change the URL each time to what we need:

RunWait(@ComSpec & ' /c start http://www.lirico.ca/ipac20/ipac.jsp?profile=lirico-eng&menu=account', '', @SW_HIDE)

Is there any way to modify the above to include a path to my own browser instead?

Thanks :)

RunWait("C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe start http://www.lirico.ca/ipac20/ipac.jsp?profi...p;menu=account", '', @SW_HIDE)
Hi, thanks for the help!

This doesn't work properly, btw. Changed path to what mine is, of course, so Firefox _is_ launched, but I'm taken to an incorrect URL, somewhere on www.live.com?! ComSpec isn't used as in previous code example, and although there is no word wrap, the code breaks to the next line. One of the other might be causing the problem, perhaps(??). Anyone know why this isn't directed where it should go and what might fix this?

Thanks!

I think you need to remove the "start" from that line of code, and probably figure out what the "..." portion of the URL should be.

Helpful tips:If you want better answers to your questions, take the time to reproduce your issue in a small "stand alone" example script whenever possible. Also, make sure you tell us 1) what you tried, 2) what you expected to happen, and 3) what happened instead.Useful links:BrettF's update to LxP's "How to AutoIt" pdfValuater's Autoit 1-2-3 Download page for the latest versions of Autoit and SciTE
<glyph> For example - if you came in here asking "how do I use a jackhammer" we might ask "why do you need to use a jackhammer"<glyph> If the answer to the latter question is "to knock my grandmother's head off to let out the evil spirits that gave her cancer", then maybe the problem is actually unrelated to jackhammers
what might fix this?

Try this:

Run('"C:\Program Files\Path\to\browser.exe" "http://www.autoitscript.com"')oÝ÷ Øêí+ºÚ"µÍÚ[^XÝ]J  ][ÝÐÎÌLÔÙÜ[H[ÉÌLÔ]    ÌLÝÉÌLØÝÜÙ^I][ÝË  ][ÝÚËÝÝÝË]]Ú]ØÜÛÛI][ÝÊ
