Get current Internet speed

Recommended Posts

I haven't tried this yet because I want to know if it's possible. Basically I am planning (upon an affirmative response to this topic) on having a hotkey that will tell me my current internet speed...

Does anybody have any ideas concerning this proposed project?

I'm sure its possible but I haven't really done anything with internet but if its not you could just make the hotkey goto a site that does that.

im sure it is possible tho and probably has been done

Ummmm...... Start the timer, then start an inetget of LARGE file, after 10 seconds, cancel, and stop time. You should be able to calculate it from there :rambo: I'll see if i can get something working....

@Mast3rpyr0- :rolleyes:

This steps to calculate the speed of particular file download (it depends on with what speed is the file given from the host).

Good point... My Method now sucks :x

:rolleyes: I just made the whole thing... :mad: Well, we'll see what people think, I posted it in Example Scripts....

@MsCreatoR: Thanks for ruining everything! :rambo:

@Mast3rpyr0: I might implement that later if what I have written now proves not to be a complete fiasco
