Working with a child window

Hi guys,

I've never worked with a child window before and I am hoping for a few pointers. Here is a skeletal example of my program.

Hrm, perhaps I should clarify...

I want to be able to have the main window still doing whatever it is doing, and be able to make new choices and inputs into the main window while the child window is running. I don't want the child window to perform a loop that will interrupt the main window.
