Get transparency of a window?

Recommended Posts

I know you can use WinSetTrans() to set the transparency of a window... but unfortunately there is not a WinGetTrans() function... what can I do to get the transparency of a window (and not particularly an AutoIt GUI)?

Thanks,

SANDMAN!

  • 1 year later...

this minor fix works on windows7(probably also vista)

Func _WinGetTrans($sTitle, $sText = "")
    Local $hWnd = WinGetHandle($sTitle, $sText)
If Not $hWnd Then Return -1
    Local $val = DllStructCreate("int")
    Local $aRet = DllCall("user32.dll", "int", "GetLayeredWindowAttributes", "hwnd", $hWnd, "ulong_ptr", 0, "int_ptr", DllStructGetPtr($val), "ulong_ptr", 0)
If @error Or Not $aRet[0] Then Return -1
    Return DllStructGetData($val, 1)
EndFunc

From

http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...mp;#entry438352

we have

- Changed: DllCall(): short_ptr, long_ptr, int_ptr types deprecated. Use short*, long* and int* respectively.

So, change "int_ptr" to "int*" for use with current AutoIt version.
