Using IniWrite when ini file is opened the section name is trimmed

Hi,

I notice this...

If you open file with write mode (erase previous contents), and then FileWrite somthing to it, and then you want to IniWrite somthing to the same file, you get strange results - all writen values by simple FileWrite command, they like "eat" the section name that you write to this file later...

Here is example:

$Open = FileOpen("Test.ini", 2)

FileWrite($Open, "[Line")

IniWrite("Test.ini", "Line Section Name", "Key", "Value")

FileClose($Open)oÝ÷ Øw«{ zÛaÊÞ²ém²)ÓzËb'âç(uïu.)ÞIç-Íjg½Ü§²

Here we get this:

My Text Line
Name]
Key=Value

I think this is a bug(?) of IniWrite(), maby this function should work with handels as well?

BTW: if we delete the line with FileWrite() from my example... then everything OK

If you use 1 as second parameter in FileOpen() function (Write mode (append to end of file)), then the section is writen normaly, but the text of FileWrite is under this section, witch is not happend if we do not use File handel (if we not FileOpen at the begining).

I explain why we need this sometimes - If we want to wrire some entries to the ini file using FileWrite() (for example the commented line with ; ), and we need to do it after every line/section writen (by IniWrite() ), so the fastest way i know, is to FileOpen("File.ini", 2), and then write all what we need.

this is a "bug" of the user. You can't open a file, write to it via the file handle and then also write to it via a function that opens AND closes the file. Why do you even expect this to work?

Because i need to acomplish something... but i am already found my way (i made a function SectionToString() )... but i thout that this is a litle strange that some values of section name replaced ("eated").

I still think that this is a bug... maby not an programm bug, but defenitly needed to correct this in help file (mention about it somthing - that IniWrite can not be used while File is opened in writing mode etc.).

well it's documented in the help file section of FileWrite!

Note: Do not mix filehandles and filenames, i.e., don't FileOpen a file and then use a filename in this function. Either use filehandles or filenames in your routines, not both.

Nothing about the IniWrite or other functions.. but now i think it should be in the FileOpen() function.

Hm, i thout that this thread was created (by me) in the bug forum... it's been moved? (without redirection )...

In the end, imho, the help file should be updated (for FileOpen() func), because someone ho do not know about it, will stack with the same problem as i am.
