Does this script exist?

Hi,

I need to roll out an .exe or simmilar to launch an application from our users desktops. Before the application is launched it much check a network share for updated files or check a version.txt and if mismatched it will copy the contents of the folder to the local users c:\program files\ etc.

Sounds easy but is there anything out there i can use as a template?
