Reading a URL?

I have a script that opens a website (via mouse/keyboard calls), then copy/pastes the page content to a Notepad window, then searches for content.

This script works great, but it "takes over" the screen while it works (it processes several hundred websites). Is there a way to do this without an actual open window so that I can do other work in the meantime (e.g. read the output of a URL directly into a string)?

Where the heck to I find it? Searching the forum leads me to either multiple implementations that prompts arguments about crashing, the fact that it might be included in inet.au3, but no download anywhere. Forgive my ignorance!
