Finding out available COM properties

How do you find out what you can use when you create an object?

say for examble I had created an object $adCN = ObjCreate ("ADODB.Connection")

How can I then find out what is available within this object

I know I can use .Open .Execute .Close .Fields .Count but only because I've read other code but I want to know what is available.

Thanks

Chris

For general exploration, see the discussion of Ole/COM Viewer in the helpfile and see this discussion for alternatives: http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...&hl=oleview

Best place however for migrosoft controls is MSDN, the Microsoft Developer Network - http://www.msdn.com It contains documentation and examples as well.

Alternative to _IECreateEmbedded? better: _IECreatePseudoEmbedded  Better Better?

IE.au3 issues with Vista - Workarounds

SciTe Debug mode - it's magic: #AutoIt3Wrapper_run_debug_mode=Y

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble

Thanks Dale, I did look at MSDN but I think I got lost, it's not that easy a place to navigate round. I'll give it another look

Understood. Invest the time to find your way around and it will pay off. As a tip in this specific case, search for the keywords: ADO Object Model
