Buey Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 I can't see why...it fails with this too: #include <GUIConstants.au3> Local $x = 500, $y = 500 GUICreate("testWindow83987", 30, 30) $lbl1 = GUICtrlCreateLabel("COM Port: ",10,10) GuiSetState() While 1 Sleep(100) WinKill("testWindow83987") WEnd Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
qazwsx Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) maybe somehow your window title match options were changed? Do you get an error mesage? Edited September 13, 2007 by sccrstvn93 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Buey Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 On the script I'm working on, WinKill works just fine on my GUI. But for the OP's script, as well as the little scriptlet I posted earlier, it doesn't. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
qazwsx Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 do you get an error? Try using winkill with the window handle. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ssubirias3 Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) Can anyone see why a Winkill would be failing on this window?Man the forum bug is getting worse, now its affecting replys not just edits! @ofLight - I've had trouble lately with some of the WinActivate and WinKill commands lately. Only noticed it since v3.2.6.0 and I'm now on v3.2.8.1. I'm not suggesting there's a problem, only putting it out there in case others also experience any problems. What I've come to use instead of WinKill is ProcessClose() which might not work for you if you're just trying to kill certain childern windows. You might also try adding a WinWait() just before the WinKill(). In some of my cases I've had to add a WinWait() just before the WinActivate() to get the window to respond correctly. Just my 2 cents on the topic. Some other wacky stuff I've noticed is with the @SW... macros. For example Run("mspaint.exe","",@SW_MAXIMIZE) doesn't work so I had to use a WinWait then a WinActivate followed by a WinSetState(). In versions gone by I didn't have to work the code so much to get a window to respond Edit: to sccrstvn93's point, I typically use "[Class:...]" for my titles and is the same effect if I use the actual title. Siao Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) Why you don't want to use GUIDelete()? Edited September 13, 2007 by Siao "be smart, drink your wine" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ofLight Posted September 17, 2007 Author Share Posted September 17, 2007 Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it. I am Still unable to get the Winkill to work, and unfortunately I need to run this as a Subfunction of a larger script so I cant use ProcessClose. I did manage to get GuiDelete to work so Im happy $handle = WinGetHandle("mbTracker") GUIDelete($handle) There is always a butthead in the crowd, no matter how hard one tries to keep them out.......Volly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
