Hi all,

Why i can't get it work?

#include <GuiConstants.au3>
Global Const $WM_NOTIFY = 0x004E

$Counter = 0

$Gui = GuiCreate("Test")
GUIRegisterMsg($WM_NOTIFY, "WM_NOTIFY")

;Just switch these control and you see the message when button is hovered
$Ctrl = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Label", 20, 50)
;$Ctrl = GUICtrlCreateButton("Button", 20, 50)

GUISetState()

While 1
    $Msg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $Msg
        Case -3
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

Func WM_NOTIFY($hWndGUI, $MsgID, $WParam, $LParam)
    $Counter += 1
    ConsoleWrite("It should be displayed " & $Counter & @LF)
    Return $GUI_RUNDEFMSG
EndFunc

I want to check if the label is hovered, but it seems that it works only on Buttons/Checkboxes etc :) .

Download the newest beta! It has all those Constants in it now... like the $WM_COMMAND and $WM_NOTIFY...

Anyways, you needed the command one not the notify.

EDIT: And that doesn't notify you of hover events... I don't know of anything that will except GuiGetCursorInfo() or whatever it is... maybe Larry's hook.dll, I never looked into that much.

I want to check if the label is hovered, but it seems that it works only on Buttons/Checkboxes etc :) .

I'm not sure you know what that "it", which works, is ;)

I mean, I don't see you checking what received notification code is anywhere in your WM_NOTIFY function. If you did, you'd see that it is NM_CUSTOMDRAW. Which a button sends to the parent window; and what exactly it wants to say by sending it, you can see by reading the NMCUSTOMDRAW structure...

You get lucky that this notification code suits your goal - mouse hover detection - because it is triggered when mouse enters/leaves button rect. But as you noticed, not all controls work that way.

That's why you need subclassing if you want to get mouse hover events for any kind control. And it would be WM_MOUSEMOVE, WM_MOUSELEAVE or similar messages.
