RAL
I was wondering...For v2.6 some guy from LKei made a fine editor. I could just like click on a command and insert all the parameters, _=*with desciption of what the hell everything means....*=-_ Im still very nub at AutoIt and it would help me getting started at v3. Is there already a simular editor for v3??

the_lord_mephy
SciTe is the best editor by far My site for HTML Help :)
Maybe nobody is an "elite uber-coder" like me because thinking is a capital offense in today's online-world?
midiaxe
I highly recommend SciTe by Jdeb. I used to use different editors like Ultraedit, Crimson and Textpad. After I installed Scite, I removed all my text editors on my machine. I use Scite for all programming/scripting that I do from autoit to perl, vbs, windows batch file, xml, html, c/c++, Nullsoft NSI, etc. =MX=
trids
It depends on your needs .. I tried Scite, but was disappointed and went back to TextPad, which I use for more than just coding. There are several threads on this question, and it all boils down to personal preference and requirements. Here's one such thread.. Text Editor WarsHave fun((( TextPad TextPad TextPad TextPad TextPad )))
MHz
The mention in that post was Scite. Post is too old to recognize now. Now the custom Scite4Autoit 3 has emerged. If you have not tried the latest Scite4Autoit3, then you maybe doing yourself an injustice. I also respect that everyone has their own perference in editors. Holger
I still use Crimson (new version 3.70) and didn't have any problems with it. I'm using it now for 10 months.... Old project:GUI/Tray menu with icons and colors Other old stuff:IconFileScanner, TriState/ThreeState GUI TreeView, GUI ContextMenu created out of a TreeView

trids
Maybe you can encourage them to cater for v3 .. ?
MHz
Yeah, I used to use LKei v2.6 editor with autoit 2.64. it was cool. But since then, they have brought out their own automation tool and are catering for that. I tried ultraedit with autoit3, no way. Then along came scite4autoit3. Perhaps the closest thing to a LKie editor than anything else. You press shift + f1 and up pops a function list, which can add the chosen function for you. Guest chuckb
You might try Boxer Text Editor. I have created a syntax highlighting file for Autoit 2 and 3. You can also link to the help file, so that pressing F1 on any Autoit function will bring up the correct page in the help file. Boxer also has templates and macros.
