mani Posted October 30, 2007 Share Posted October 30, 2007 hi guys im new to autoit but want to learn. i need to make something that will: by running a script on my windows xp computer and giving it the computer name of the other windows xp computer on my network. it copies the active window's text on the other computer and returns it to mine as a .txt file or on my clipboard (preferable) thanks guys if you guys have code or ideas would be appriciated Many thanks Mani Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mani Posted October 30, 2007 Author Share Posted October 30, 2007 why spy?its part of another existing tool we are using but we do this bit manually to get the data, but the data is quite long winded and not everyone is comp literate enough to copy paste and send plus we have security issues in the network. so the only quick way is to use the tool (its really to capture error / windows output messages) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DW1 Posted October 30, 2007 Share Posted October 30, 2007 I am not big with networking autoit, but I think you need a client/server type app. That way you would be hosting the server (that the clients report to), and they will be holding the client that watches for windows error/ outpu messages, and relays them to the server.
