string trim

Is there any way to trim a string of varying length, with a constant character, after that constant character?

Any help would be appreciated.

Look for StringTrimLeft/StringTrimRight/StringInStr functions in the hep file.

What I am trying to do is to remove everything after the | .

I have tried several ways, with your advice, to achieve this but none have worked.
