SpookMeister
If you didn't catch it from Danwilli's code... the main issue you had appears to be not having a space inside the quotes right after Notepad.exe Helpful tips:If you want better answers to your questions, take the time to reproduce your issue in a small "stand alone" example script whenever possible. Also, make sure you tell us 1) what you tried, 2) what you expected to happen, and 3) what happened instead.Useful links:BrettF's update to LxP's "How to AutoIt" pdfValuater's Autoit 1-2-3 Download page for the latest versions of Autoit and SciTE
<glyph> For example - if you came in here asking "how do I use a jackhammer" we might ask "why do you need to use a jackhammer"<glyph> If the answer to the latter question is "to knock my grandmother's head off to let out the evil spirits that gave her cancer", then maybe the problem is actually unrelated to jackhammers

MrCreatoR
You can run with $CmdLineRaw... Run("Notepad.exe " & $CmdLineRaw) That way you will not get any errors, and notepad will always executed, regardless of passed parameters (if Notepad.exe is found of course ). weaponx
$CmdLineRaw is really only good if you are parsing the command line yourself or if you are only forwarding to another program directly. Not many cases where you are taking the exact command line passed to your script and passing it to another script.
MrCreatoR
$CmdLineRaw is really only good if you are parsing the command line yourselfIf you do this: $aMyCmdLine = StringSplit($CmdLineRaw, ' ') You will get an array like $CmdLine, but without the limitation of that array... Note : only 63 parameters can be return by $CmdLine[...">, but $CmdLineRaw will always returns the entire command line. And this all parsing that you will have to do And i found a use for this variable as internal usage (inside my app), so it's very usefull variable Spoiler Using OS: Win 7 Professional, Using AutoIt Ver(s): 3.3.6.1 / 3.3.8.1 AutoIt Russian Community My Work... GEOSoft
If we assume that the OP is using Notepad as the default text editor then either ShellExecute("test.txt");; to always open the same file or ShellExecute($CmdLineRaw);; in case you want to just drag a file onto the exe George Question about decompiling code?
