Nice effort, I like the default color scheme. Thank you for sharing.

But it still needs lots of work..

Not meaning to be harsh or offensive , but constructive criticism will hopefully help in the long run.

There's to much room for errors depending on a users pc and how it's setup.

One example of error is the way your trying to get the file extension of desktop files to associate icons.

$Ext = StringSplit ( $Files[$i], '.' )

If $Ext[2] = 'exe' Then

$Icon_ID = '%1'

$IPath = FileGetLongName ( $Files[$i] )

EndIf...

What happens when a filename has more then 1 "." ?

Your method will fail.

Even if the file has only one "." in it's name it will still fail most the time because it would be better to use icon Ordinal value and not the icon Name value.

Also the there is an undeclared variables in the script which you are calling..

Func ChangeColor( $Colors )

GuiCtrlSetColor ( $SMText1, $Colors )

$SMText1 is nowhere to be found apart from in the line above..

Maybe use AdLib for the snow screen saver as opposed to using While loop in a function that looks in another while loop in another function for gui msgs.. It makes the snow slow when the mouse isn't moving and speeds up while the mouse is moving.

A consistant snow flow is obtainable without a 2nd while loop and still being able to catch the GuiGetMsg() clicks in the main loop by using adlib.

I was just adding a change color feature so you can change the color (Theme) of the system

Most of the standard 'Windows' extensions only have 1 '.' although linux and unix have more than one... I am using windows at the moment so yeh

I beg to differ about the period in a file name..

My desktop contains some files with more then 1 period in the name.

Example:

2004.Scream.At.Me.mp3.lnk

Even some of the folders on my desktop have 1 or more period(s) in their name..

If you $split = stringsplit("2004.Scream.At.Me.mp3.lnk", ".")

Then $split[2] would be "Scream" and not "lnk"

You maybe should use $split[$split[0]] to get only the last piece of the split.

Or have a look at StringMid() & StringInStr()

Either way you can get the correct file extension no matter how many periods are in the file name using similar methods to the above.

Edit: On another note,

You may want to change your script to OnEventMode.

The reason I say this is atm if you run your script then while doing nothing apart from moving the mouse the CPU usage jumps to 50% and upwards..

In OnEventMode this behavior doesn't seem to happen at all.

Also with the mouse over the menus the colors flicker quite a bit, this is because your calling the change color over and over even if the color has changed..

Maybe put a condition in the color change that if the mouse is over a control and the control isn't different to the last control then don't set the color.

Also the Time in the Toolbar doesn't change as the time changes.

You need to add a condition there as well, example:

Hopefully what Smashly said sunk in, but what you are saying is true, alothough you can have tar.gz Use the method he previded, and you should be ok. Also, make the screen dynamic. @DesktopWidth @DesktopHeight etc. You need it to be dynamic. My screen is also a bit weird, being 1280x800.

Have you got Scite4AutoIt3? Cause you should see these if you are:

Very nice! But i need to make a suggestion.

When i run this script in 800X640, The start menu is cut off. Other than that, I like this!

EDIT: Don't ask why i use 800x640. It's a long story

I didn't get it working. This used to be a part of a different OS Shell topic, which i commented on, and the thread got split into 2. My comment was to the other shell.

I don't really see how this could be an issue... That variable was never declared, unless something is wrong the error should occur.

I commented that line, and the script then had a problem with the icons. The creator assumed all files would be 1 of just a few extensions, and left no ELSE statement. After fixing that, it worked. What's that old phrase? "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all?"

How could it be an issue... Hmm...

Once you declare the variable, you get another undeclared variable. Declare it, you get another, and another, are you seeing how this could be an issue?

well im not recieving any errors so i dont know what the problem can be as you can see the image i uploaded... no errors whatsoever i run the compiled version and no errors, could this be a bug somewere along the line? and $SMText is declared as a 'Label' so it is already there with a value WTF

For the last time yes i am using Scite4Autoit3 the scintilla based freeware sh*t. I am using everything provided by AutoIt... I will go over the code anyway and try find some possible problems that wont show up on my pc
