automate driver installation

Hi,

I'm a newbie using this software and i'm trying to automate a driver installation using autoit.

I'm currently running the installation in vista.

Autoit manage to run the setup.exe, following the setup screen, next, next, next until it reaches a window which it can't proceed anymore.

The window's title = windows security, text inside the windows = always trust software from matrox, available buttons=install, do not install.

I have tried using the command WinWaitActive or WinActive ("Windows Security")

and try sending a keystroke ("!i") to click install but it is not working.

Am I using the wrong command? I've been trying this for days.

Pls help. Thanks a lot.

I don't know if it's the same in Vista (I am still blissfully Vista-free), but for Win2K\XP\2003 is use calls to DevCon.exe to query\install\update drivers in my scripts. Avoids all the GUI stuff altogether.

:D

P.S. Since it's a security dialog, Vista my be blocking simulated keyboard inputs, too.

Dear User#31468,

This Is An Vista Free World! Vista Has Been Known To Cause Most AutoIt Creations To Work Improperly.

It Is Recommened To Install Windows XP Over Vista Home Edition.

Hi

Did anybody else try this?

I am having a similar problem. The check box doesn't show a separate control (class) , so even though I tell AutoIt to click on the check box, its not doing so.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Raj
