nitron Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 Hell Guys, I have searched the Forum but found nothing that realy helped me. What i want to do ist read an USB port. We have a Siemens Callbridge form which I can call others from my PC. The PC is connected to the Telephone. Now i want to scan the Port to see if somebody is calling an then creat an Pop up that displays the Numer of the Person calling... The Problem is I have no Idea how get infos from a USB Port... Confuzzled Posted February 3, 2008 Share Posted February 3, 2008 The fact that your serial port is a virtual one shouldn't make a lot of difference as far as the software to detect incoming calls are made. From distant memory, check that the RS232 Ring pin changes, and then read the caller ID between the first and second ring - it is transmitted at 1200 baud. Running Windows HyperTerminal connected to the appropriate COM port should show "RING", followed by the CallerID details. All you need to do is peel that off and use it for whatever...
