Prob: Opening a hyperlink hidden

I think this goes best with a lil example:

#include <IE.au3>

$oIE = _IECreate ("http://www.dutchleader.nl/zoek.php?zoek=vendetta",0, 0)

_IELinkClickByText ($oIE, "http://www.criminalsloco.eu/totalclan.php?x=Vendetta")

(u must allow popups for dutchleader.nl else this wont work I guess)

In the example the script creates an instance of IE hidden....this works nicely!

The problem is that when the script opens the hyperlink in a new IE instance that instance wont be hidden.

I found this in the help:

When opening a local HyperTextApplication (.hta) file, Internet Explorer will open a new browser process for it that will not be accessible through the object variable returned by _IECreate. To control this new browser you must use _IEAttach with the "embedded" option.

Still...I havent figured out how 2 get this done...the window of the opened hyperlink just has to be hidden :S

Plz help...thx in advance.

Your popup is not a .hta, so taht comment does not directly apply.

Using _IEAttach to get a reference to the new window using any of the modes EXCEPT embedded or dialogbox followed by _IEAction with the "invisible" parameter should work for you.

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble

_IELinkClickByText ($oIE, "http://www.criminalsloco.eu/totalclan.php?x=Vendetta",0,0) ;last "0" opens the link hidden
