A very easy question

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Can anybody tell me how to delete the icons of printer & Windows Firewall in control panel?

OS: win xp sp2

Thanks!

firewall is the applet "firewall.cpl", moving it away might do the job (currently sitting at a Win2k, so I can't check)

Another approach might be gpedit.msc, check out the tons of options there as well.

Regards, Rudi.

For printers:

$printer = "Принтеры и факсы";My OS is russian localization
RegWrite("HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowCpl", "1", "REG_SZ", $printer)

As sadness, I have moved the WMI out of my system, the Gpedit seems to be unable to work
