Script to hide the Bluetooth systray icon under Vista

Recommended Posts

One of the annoying bugs of Windows Vista it's impossible to delete Bluetooth icon from the systray.

This script provides a workaround by deleting the Bluetooth icon from the system tray notification area, and you can run it on startup.

Tested on Windows Vista SP1.

(no permission to post on the Example Scripts forum, so I'm posting it here)

#NoTrayIcon
For $i = 1 To 600
    If WinExists("BluetoothNotificationAreaIconWindowClass") Then
        WinClose("BluetoothNotificationAreaIconWindowClass")
        _RefreshSystemTray()
        Exit
    EndIf
    Sleep(100)
Next
