monitoring in background and executing other operations in foreground

I apologize for my poor English, I have some difficulty to traslate my question in clear words.

Some kind user indicated me the following excellent script

to monitor file changes in a specific folder.

I wish to know if it is possible to do such task in the background and execute some other operations in the foreground (for example, interact with a GUI window, copy some files), in the same script. If it is so, how can I build it?

I hope my very rough description is enough to be understood, otherwise I will try to be clearer. Thanks for your patience.

If I understand you correctly you are wanting to create "threads" in your script. Threading is not supported in AutoIT.
