Text on screen (overlay)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I want to make some text appear on screen, just for a few seconds.

Basically, I want it to be an overlay over all other windows to display the status of something a script just changed.

So when I start my script, it should display a text at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds and then make it disappear again.

Is that understandable? And if yes, it is possible?

Thanks

PS: I want it to look like what I see when I use my Logitech keyboard to change the volume - see the attached screenshot.
