_IEDocReadHTML different from actual source

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get the source/message list from an AOL Webmail page.

The source can be viewed through internet explorer correctly, but neither the _IEDocReadHTML or the _IEBodyReadHTML commands return the right source. They both display some hotkey list instead.

I'm trying to stay away from sending keystrokes but when I was trying a workaround I found out the getclibboard UDF doesn't store enough data.

Is there another way to read the message list from AOL webmail? I've switched to the "lite view" so I'm not dealing with Iframes.

Thanks.

_IEDoc* and _IEBody* functions show you the *interpretted* source - after client-side processing is complete. Based on the way they work, I can guarantee you that they are returning "the right source".

I suggest you try DebugBar to help you figure out the source and structure of your site.

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble
