Tool tip Question

Hello all! Still a newbie, but slowly but surely getting the "simple things"

I look all around for this, but can't find it.

If a mouse is hovering over an icon that "pops up" a tooltip, can AutoIt be able to tell me(need to copy it to the clipboard) what the text of the tooltip is corresponding to what's under the mouse?

So, you want AutoIt to read what a tooltip is saying, and copy the text in the tooltip to clipboard?

Yes! on mouseover, if there is a tooltip "popping up", capture the text and copy it to the clipboard.

Thanks for asking. I wasn't clear. I don't know a lot of terminology yet.

Is this tooltip from your own created GUI, or it is from external application?

ToolTip is basically a window, so you can try something like this:

it looks like this is an autoit script creating a GUI. Duh. Please forgive me, I am really trying to figure this out.

Actually, I am looking for a script for an external application.

Any other ideas for external app would be welcome.

It works in the example you gave. I was surpised that the window title gives the text but obviously it does. Thanks MrNameChangedCreatoR

I tried it for tooltips in FireFox and a Delphi application but it didn't work for either of them. Probably they don't use tooltips_class32.
