minimize into taskbar problem

Recommended Posts

how would i make the following script minimize into the taskbar. currently in minimizes into a box on the lower left corner of the screen and not onto the taskbar. I want it to minimize into the task bar and when not minimized, it not in the taskbar.

Sample Code

#include <Constants.au3>
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>

Opt("WinTitleMatchMode", 1)

$GUI = GUICreate("minimize test gui", 200, 200, -1, -1, $WS_POPUP, BitOR($WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW, $WS_EX_TOPMOST, $WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE))
$Button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Minimize Me", 24, 24, 75, 25, 0)
$Button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Exit", 24, 100, 75, 25, 0)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $Button1
            WinSetState("minimize test gui", "", @SW_MINIMIZE)
        Case $Button2
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

If you do not need the extended styles, this works.

#include <Constants.au3>
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>

Opt("WinTitleMatchMode", 1)

$GUI = GUICreate("minimize test gui", 200, 200, -1, -1, $WS_POPUP);, BitOR($WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW, $WS_EX_TOPMOST, $WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE)
$Button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Minimize Me", 24, 24, 75, 25, 0)
$Button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Exit", 24, 100, 75, 25, 0)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $Button1
            WinSetState("minimize test gui", "", @SW_MINIMIZE)
        Case $Button2
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

Try this:

#include <Constants.au3>
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>

Opt("WinTitleMatchMode", 1)

$GUI = GUICreate("minimize test gui", 200, 200, -1, -1, $WS_POPUP, BitOR($WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW, $WS_EX_TOPMOST, $WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE))

$Button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Minimize Me", 24, 24, 75, 25, 0)
$Button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Exit", 24, 100, 75, 25, 0)

GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE, $Button2
            Exit
        Case $GUI_EVENT_RESTORE
            GUISetState(@SW_HIDE) ;Don't ask, i don't have a clue why the GUI does not changing styles when it visible
            GUISetStyle($WS_POPUP, BitOR($WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW, $WS_EX_TOPMOST, $WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE))
            GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)
        Case $Button1
            GUISetStyle($WS_POPUP, BitOR($WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW, $WS_EX_TOPMOST, $WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE, $WS_EX_APPWINDOW))
            GUISetState(@SW_MINIMIZE)

No need to hide it...

It's not working for me muttley

When you restore the gui, the app button still shown on the taskbar.

And GUISetStyle($WS_POPUP,BitAnd($aStyle[1], BitNot($WS_EX_APPWINDOW))) is the same as if you set a previously known styles :)
