How to select a popup menu item of an application like WinMenuSelectItem() does?

Recommended Posts

E.g., I ran notepad.exe and right click at the edit area, a popupmenu pops up, and I select the 'Paste(&P)' item to paste something into the edit area. How to do this by AutoIt?

To paste you have to have the edit active, and have something to paste, so this should work

WInactivate("Untitled")
clipput(@crlf &  "I hope you can read something here!" & @CRLF);create something to paste
WinMenuSelectItem("Untitled - ", "", "&Edit", "&Paste" )
Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script.

What I wrote above is JUST an example, the program I am gonna control does not provide such menu BUT a popup menu.

It would be better it if you made it clear what you want in the first post rather than after getting a reply.

Could you simply do

MouseClick("right",$windowleft + 100, $windowtop + 100,1,0)
