Drag & Drop file

Recommended Posts

Compile the following script:

If $CmdLine[0] > 0 Then
    $filename = $CmdLine[1]
    MsgBox(4096,"Information", $filename)
EndIf

When you drag a file on to the compiled script, a message box should display the file name.

And then you can take the next exciting step too: when you have compiled your app to an EXE, you can use Windows Explorer to associate certain extension(s) with your EXE.

EG: you might have *.LXS files that you want your autoit app to process, so select one and press SHIFT as you right-click on it .. then select "Open With.." and point to your EXE.

After that, you can either drag-and-drop OR double-click your *.LXS files.
