Shell Objects

Recommended Posts

I just spent the last two days trying to figure out shell objects. I took a tutorial on oleview.exe and MSDN tech net. I have a good understanding how things work, the only problem I dont understand is where to get the properties/methods syntax from? For example the line of script below from SvenP, how did he know where to get the 3 from? I know it calls the network applet in control panel, and then it reads the connection name from the .verb. Is there an easy way to view all properties and methods available for shell.application on an index table or list?

Const $ssfCONTROLS = 3

$ShellApp = ObjCreate("Shell.Application")

$oControlPanel = $shellApp.Namespace($ssfCONTROLS)

full code... http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...art=#entry87000

That kind of thing generally comes from a quick Google of MSDN: Scriptable Shell Objects

That specific constant comes from: ShellSpecialFolderConstants Enumerated Type

Google is your friend.
