   This sample code will:
   1) Create a new browser window
   2) Navigate to http://www.autoitscript.com
   3) click on the 'forum' link
   4) click on the 'Search' link
   5) get the object reference for the form named 'sForm'
   6) get the object reference for the form field 'keywords' in the form 'sForm'
   7) enter the value 'ReadyState' into the 'keywords' field
   8) submit the form to return the search results

#include <IE.au3>

$o_IE = _IECreate ()
_IENavigate ($o_IE, "http://autoitscript.com")
_IEClickLinkByText ($o_IE, "forum")
_IEClickLinkByText ($o_IE, "Forums")
_IEClickLinkByText ($o_IE, "Search")
$o_SearchForm = _IEFormGetObjByName ($o_IE, "sForm")
$o_Keywords = _IEFormElementGetObjByName ($o_SearchForm, "keywords")
_IEFormElementSetValue ($o_Keywords, "ReadyState")
_IEFormSubmit ($o_SearchForm)

Basically, i was testing that code...It was from a post of the creator of IE.au3 (Forgot his name) But...I keep getting this error

Line -1:

_IELinkClickByText ($o_IE, "forum")
_IELinkClickByText ($o_IE, "Forums")
_IELinkClickByText ($o_IE, "Search")

1. The IE.au3 version has changed and is built-in to Autoit

2. The Forum has changed since then and the location and name for the form has changed

3. Dale Hohm

  • 9 months later...

I am having the exact same problem, with the Error: Unknown fucntion Name.

It is calling out line 5 as the unknown function name. -> _IEClickLinkByText ($o_IE, "forum")

I have installed the latest autoit3 and it works fine on normal programs.

I have installed the beta also...

IE.au3 is ins the same directory as the program.

Any Ideas... how can I confirm that the IE.au3 features are working correctly.

#include <IE.au3>

$o_IE = _IECreate ()

_IENavigate ($o_IE, "http://autoitscript.com")

_IEClickLinkByText ($o_IE, "forum")

_IEClickLinkByText ($o_IE, "Forums")

_IEClickLinkByText ($o_IE, "Search")

$o_SearchForm = _IEFormGetObjByName ($o_IE, "sForm")

$o_Keywords = _IEFormElementGetObjByName ($o_SearchForm, "keywords")

_IEFormElementSetValue ($o_Keywords, "ReadyState")

_IEFormSubmit ($o_SearchForm)

Thanks

changes from _IEClickLinkByText to _IELinkClickByText

see help file for command _IELinkClickByText ( ByRef $o_object, $s_linkText [, $i_index = 0], $f_wait = 1]] )
