For your first question try GUICtrlCreateInput instead of an edit. For your second question add the style $ES_MULTILINE to your edit:

GUICtrlCreateEdit("blah..", 10, 10, 200, 20, $ES_MULTILINE)
about not allowing the enter, i need it to be an edit, so i can use this _GUICtrlEdit_SetLimitText($txt, 160) and some other commands like that, and the $ES_MULTILINE in my edit still doesnt allow word wrap, it scrolls off the edit :-(

This is what I have used to choose either wordwrap or not

If $wordwrap Then
    $edit = GUICtrlCreateEdit($text, $x, $y, $w, $h, BitOR($WS_HSCROLL, $ES_WANTRETURN, $ES_AUTOVSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL, $ES_MULTILINE, $ES_NOHIDESEL))
Else
    $edit = GUICtrlCreateEdit($text, $x, $y, $w, $h, BitOR($ES_AUTOVSCROLL, $WS_VSCROLL, $ES_MULTILINE, $ES_NOHIDESEL))
EndIf
Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script.

thanks that works fine now, but how would i quickly change an inputs state from readonly to not readonly or from disabled to enabled, whenever i change it, it alwasy takes like 20 clicks before i can write in it?
