Set Value in a ComboBox Issue

I am trying to use AutoIt to launch MS Outlook with the /cleanprofile switch for each user profile in Outlook. My approach is to retrieve the registry keys then pass them into the ComboBox using the ControlCommand - SetCurrentSelection. I am running into some strange behavior though. It seems to work the first time I run my EXE, then unless I recomplie the EXE, the second time I run it gets confused and passes the wrong profile name.

For example the first time it will pass "Profile1", open Outlook and then close it. Then it will (as expected) pass "Profile2", open Outlook and then close it. If I immediately try and run the EXE again, it will pass "Profile1", open Outlook and then close it. Then when it tries to pass "Profile2" it gets confused and passes "Profile1" again.

I was thinking it was a memory issue and by just nulling out the $profile variable in between reads I'd be ok. Tried that and nothing. I check the $profile variable right before I pass it to the ComboBox and it is correct. It just doen'st make it into the box.

I have also tired use the DllCall instead but haven't been able to get that work. I'd appreciate any thoughts.. Here is the code:

Some of the following tips may not apply to you, but it may make your life a bit easier here on the forum in the future.

    Keep in mind every time you bump your thread to the top of the forum, you knock the other threads down a notch.

    Everyone posting for help has just as much right for their threads to get read as you do.

    Because of that, do not bump your post more than once in a 24 hour period.

    A Bump is simply posting in your thread with nothing that pertains to your query with the sole purpose of moving it up.

    Deleting previous bumps, and posting new ones is not tolerated, and the moderators can find those deletions, so do yourself a favor and don't cross that line >_< .

• Rude or obnoxious content:

  This falls pretty much under the common sense thing. If you use it (common sense) before posting, you won't have issues.

  • Don't use foul language, remember, a lot of the community is at work when they read these threads.
  • Don't provoke or instigate an argument with someone.
• Double Posting:
  • It's understood that sometimes there's a lag in the system, and sometimes people don't see their post go up right aways so they post again.

    If this happens to you, simply notify a moderator with the report feature in the post, and politely ask them to delete it.

  • If you're just creating another topic because your original topic is not being answered the way you want or at all, this is not tolerated. You could lose your posting privileges all together over it.

I think that it is unlikely that recompiling the script effects the problem.

What happens if you change the line

I just tested that and get and unfortunately get the same outcome as before. Also just tried taking the value I get for $profile from RegEnumKey() and storing it it an array, then accessing the different array elements in hope that it was a memory issue, but still the same. As you stated I don't think it is a function of the recompile. I have seen it happen right after compile.

Is this a .NET app?

Also, I'm not sure (because I'm not sure if I've ever seen one personally) that ControlCommand will work on a RichEdit combo box. You might have a look at the _GUICtrlComboBoxEx* functions.

I know that I had to use those recently in a .NET app, they may also come in handy with what you are doing.

If that doesn't work, then maybe try a combo of the RichEdit functions + _GUICtrlComboBoxEx*, if I'm not mistaken (it may only be in the source) there's a way to get the Edit handle, if you have that, you may be able to interact with the RichEdit control(s).
