POP3 and SSL?

Hey guys,

I know there have been several previous posts on using POP3 and SSL, but I was wondering if there has been any progress in being able to connect to a POP3 server with SSL (e.g. yahoo or gmail).

If not, will IMAP work?

I was just trying to figure out a basic script that would be able to read messages from your mailbox most efficiently and or notify you when you get a new message.

Anyone know of any new discoveries in this field or any suggestions for how I may achieve this?

Like always, any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Steve

GMail offers you POP3 connection, I don't know for the others :P but I guess that most web mail services also have their POP3 alternative.

I can do signature me.
