I thought the filename was "settings" without an extension. $startupsound = IniRead(@ScriptDir & "\settings.ini", "settings", "startupsound", "NotFound") will work with a file "settings.ini" $startupsound = IniRead(@ScriptDir & "\settings", "settings", "startupsound", "NotFound") will work with a file "settings" (!!!)
