martin
Serial number for drive perhaps?Be careful. Make sure you get the hardware serial number and not the VolumeSerial Number. I've been caught out with that one. Even though people don't tend to change their volume serial numbers, PC suppliers tend to clone the hard disc so they all have the same volume serial numbers. If you can get the manufacturer's hardware serial number then that is more secure and can't be changed.http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/hard_disk_serialno.aspx Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script. martin
What will DriveGetSerial() get ?I don't actually understand how the string returned by DriveGetSerial relates to the hex Volume Serial number, but if you change the volume serial number then the string returned by DriveGetSerial changes.
