Install from web

is there a way to have a script connect to a web server, download files needed to install a program and run them? im just looking for a faster way to install a script i made earlier. also is there a way to use this same idea to download and install updates to a program??

Edit: I just had another idea lol it must be a good night, but anyway rather than using an installer exe why not just dl the files to where they need to be using Inetget so anyway.. how does 1 do the above as well as create a short cut in the all programs list
