Is it possible

Recommended Posts

Hi all.....

I am fairly new to this scripting lark but was wondering if it's possible to create a script that would change the local Administrator password of a number of machines.

The catch is that the password would be generated using part of the MAC Address and also the machine type / name.

Comments welcome.

Regards

:)

for changing passwords, you can use net user commands in dos. So "net user account *" will prompt you for a new password for 'account'. You of course need admin rights to do it.

While ProcessExists('Andrews bad day.exe')
	BlockInput(1)
	SoundPlay('Music.wav')
	SoundSetWaveVolume('Louder')
WEnd

If someone was to figure out the algorithm on how you generated all those passwords from the two fixed variables, it wouldn't be a bit of a lark any more, would it? Remember that tools to decrypt your final compiled AutoIT script do exist.

You doing this on a networked environment?

Presently all machines have the same local admin password as defined during the build

Obviously once someone has this they have access to all of the machines....

The idea is to generate a new password using machine specific data and change them all accordingly...
