ListView Alternating Colors

Hi

Is there an easy way to define alternating colors(2) for the rows in a listview ?

I dont care which row has which color, i just want them to be different.

The only constraint is that the colors should "survive" sorting the rows(there is no need that every rows has the same color as before sorting).

Thanks for your help

Wurzelbutz,

Create the ListView and use $GUI_BKCOLOR_LV_ALTERNATE. Then set the colour of the items and you will get alternate coloured rows. From Help file: "The odd lines will get the color set by GUICtrlSetBkColor of the Listview control. The even lines will get the color set by GUICtrlSetBkColor of the ListviewItem."control.

$hList = GUICtrlCreateListView (.....)
    GUICtrlSetBkColor(-1, $GUI_BKCOLOR_LV_ALTERNATE)
...
GUICtrlCreateListViewItem("...", $hList)
    GUICtrlSetBkColor(-1, $Colour)

As far as I know, it survives sorting - it certainly survives redrawing.

hi

thanks for the answer but i can't get it to work.

I use the following code:

$listview = GUICtrlCreateListView("Bla  |bla   |bla  |bla", 10, 30, 320, 150)
    GUICtrlSetBkColor(-1,$color_a)
    GUICtrlSetBkColor(-1, $GUI_BKCOLOR_LV_ALTERNATE)
    GUICtrlCreateListViewItem("text1|text11|text12", $listview)
    GUICtrlCreateListViewItem("text2|text21|text22|", $listview)
    GUICtrlCreateListViewItem("text3|text31|text32", $listview)
    GUICtrlSetBkColor(-1,$color_b)

the list has the background color a, only the last item has color b.

when i move the last line up (below $GUI_BKCOLOR_LV_ALTERNATE) the whole list has background color a.

please tell me what i am doing wrong.

Wurzelbutz,

You need a GUICtrlSetBkColor(-1,$color_:) after each GUICtrlCreateListViewItem("text3|text31|text32", $listview).

As the Control IDs are only numbers, you could set variables to the IDs, wait until you have created them all, and then run a little loop:

For $i = $ID_First_Item To $ID_Last_Item
    GUICtrlSetBkColor($i, $color_b)
Next

Wurzelbutz,

So did I at first! It took a lot of experimentation before I discovered how it actually works.
