In this web page, is there a way to click on the "License Overview" button without use its 'href' and its name?

Text and name are not the same thing, and your attitude towards someone trying to help you will limit the support you get if it continues.

Experiment with the _IE* functions. Get an object reference to the DOM ($oIE), then to the form ($oForm), then _IELinkGetCollection() to get all the links in a collection ($colLinks), and lastly, loop through the collection to find the one with the .innertext property you are looking for.

...or you could let _IELinkClickByText() do most of that for you as previously recommended.

Have you tried to do it with _IELinkClickByText() as suggested by ludocus? If so, please post the code you tried and describe what happened.

The attitude I refer to is that which leads you to dismiss a proposed solution without trying or even understanding it.

In the case of this link, you would find "License Overview" in the .outertext property (and .innertext, they are the same here), which is checked and used by... wait for it... _IELinkClickByText()!

The link does not have a name, but does have an .id = "6bTojik3CZ", which _IEFormElementGetObjByName() will find due to a quirk in the DOM that it will match name or id.

I'm readed all the function _IELinkClickByText() in the help file. It says:

Simulate a mouse click on a link with text sub-string matching the string provided.

Parameters
$o_object Object variable of an InternetExplorer.Application, Window or Frame object
$s_linkText Text displayed on the web page for the desired link to click

$f_wait Optional: specifies whether to wait for page to load before returning
0 = Return immediately, not waiting for page to load
1 = (Default) Wait for page load to complete before returning

This function performs a click on a string (containing a link) on a web page.

I haven't figured out what you mean by "...that button independently from the text." You said you read the help file, but did you try simply using this?

_IELinkClickByText($ie, "License Overview")

If so, what happened?

The _IELinkClickByText() function does NOT just click on every instance of the given text (i.e. body text). It only clicks on LINKS that contain that text. So the "button" is not independent from its text.

@TheTex: This is just wrong:

If... Then
Code

It is not
If... Then... Code...
Endif

When there is only a single line of conditional code, it can be placed on the same line after THEN and no ENDIF is used. So both of these are valid:

If [condition] Then
     [single line of code]
EndIf

; Or...

If [conditon] Then [single line of code]

Where there are multiple lines of conditional code they must be on separate lines followed by ENDIF.

OK. Is the link always the same index (i.e. the fourth, or twenty-fourth link)? If so, then you could just get the link by:

$oLink = _IELinkGetCollection($ie, 23); 24th link (0-based)
_IEAction($oLink, "click")

I'm not sure what is happening with your code. Some of the links may not have .href properties set. Perhaps insert some debug code:

_IEErrorHandlerRegister()

Another way to drill down would be via the table that the link is embedded in. Best to examine it with a DOM inspector like DebugBar to get the path if you want to go that route.

Edit: Replaced _IENavigate() with _IEAction() per Dale. Makes more sense that way.

The link is always the same...I'm tried this solution and it works very well, but there is a problem. How can I get the corrected index of that link? I'm tried some indexes, but without succes.

The script for debugging doesn't show anything...

I don't understand this: "Best to examine it with a DOM inspector like DebugBar to get the path if you want to go that route." Could you explain with easier terms?

Thanks to all...

After hundreds of tries, I found a working solution. Here is the code:

$links=_IELinkGetCollection($ie)
$n_links=@extended
For $link In $links
If StringInStr($link.href,"license.html?id=") Then $url=$link.href
Next
_IENavigate($ie,$url)

When the For loop finds a matching URL, it assigns it to the variable $url; at the end of the For loop, the function _IENavigate go to that URL.

Now, another thing...

Is there a way to load the web pages without the images to speed-up the browsing?
