Tried $ES_READONLY and $CBS_DROPDOWNLIST in different combinations to no avail.

$WS_DISABLED 0x08000000 Creates a window that is initially disabled.

I doubt that will work either though.

I guess you could write a bunch of error checking code for options you expect to get but that defeats the purpose of using a list box in the first place as you might as well just code it all out if you going to do that. I am not sure but I just checked out the drop down list in one of my apps and it also lets you type in there and I don't have the error code to support that. It makes it bomb out and crash LOL because the file you type doesn't exist like the ones I generate for the drop down list do.

If you do find a solution please post it here as I could use it also. If I find one I'll do the same.

Thanks,

Avery

PS: I searched and read all the applicable functions in the documentation and I'm still stumped on this one.

Hi,

I have just tried $CBS_DROPDOWNLIST and it works beautifully - cannot write in the box and only drop-down list items available for selection.

$hCombo= GUICtrlCreateCombo("", 10, 40, 300, 20, $CBS_DROPDOWNLIST)

Does screw up my: _GUICtrlComboBox_SetEditText($hCombo, $sData) line though :-(

TripleDES: I just tested the Example Melba23 posted and it fixed my app just fine. I didn't try it before because you said it didn't work lol.

Thanks Melba23!

$picker = GUICtrlCreateCombo("<< Select Policy >>", 8, 8, 153, 25, $CBS_DROPDOWNLIST)
GUICtrlSetData(-1, $files)
