Hi,

Is there a way of detecting the Windows message telling you how many unread email messages you have?

It's displayed on the Welcome screen, but it must be accessible from somewhere else, too, because I have a script for my keyboard that tells me how many new emails I have.

I don't know how that works, though...

What email client are you using?

I suspect it is a MSN based or Outlook based.

you can get the number of mails from registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail

find all folders in the section above, and for each check the "MessageCount" (DWORD), all of them together are displaying your "unread mails" at the user logo screen
