Hello Everyone :)

I'm new to autoit.. I have just started playing aroudn with it today. I'm testing an application and I would like to automate a button press.

I'm able to get the button to automaticaly get pressed by the

SEND("{ENTER}") then a pop up menu shows up and I have to select yes or no and I

SEND("{LEFT}{ENTER}")

Problem im facing is I have to repeat this in a loop several times but after the initial pass the focus goes to another control and I think i need to find another way to automate this.

So basically.... How do I put focus on a specific control.. Such as a tab that has text that says "Connection"

and How do I set focus on a button in a application?

Use Au3Info.exe to get information on the control/window, and Search Help file for ControlFocus

Learn how to identify controls (help file), then use functions like ControlClick(), where you can specify exactly where you want the action to be performed.

Sagal,

First, welcome to the AutoIt forums.

As to your question: use the AutoIt Window Info tool to get some details of the control you want to activate and then use ControlClick. You can find details of how to use that command in the Help file.

Reading the Help file (at least the first few sections - Using AutoIt, Tutorials and the first coouple of References) will help you enormously.

You should also look at the excellent tutorials that you will find here and here.

It always helps if you have had a go at solving your problems before posting here. Having some code to work on is a great help - and no-one here likes the "code it for me" brigade.

Enjoy AutoIt.
