muncherw
When I open my text file and sort the contents it adds the total number of items at the end of the text file which I do not want. What am I doing wrong to cause that? I assume it is somethign in my _FileWriteFromArray bit. $file = "test.txt" If Not _FileReadToArray($file ,$aRecords) Then MsgBox(4096,"Error", " Error reading log to Array error:" & @error) Exit EndIf FileClose($file) $file = FileOpen("test.txt", 2) _ArraySort($aRecords) _FileWriteFromArray($file, $aRecords, 1) FileClose($file) Edit: Accidentally submitted bost before I finished writing it. Woopsie-doodle! Moderators Melba23 Posted February 25, 2009 Moderators Share Posted February 25, 2009 muncherw,_FileReadToArray sets the [0] element to the number of items read in from the file. From the ever useful Help file: "$aArray[0] will contain the number of records read into the array.". So when you sort, that number is obviously ending at the bottom of your sorted array because of the sort parameters you are using.Solution: delete the [0] element with _ArrayDelete before sorting!M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
