eagle4life69
I would like to know how I can pass variables through an exe... What I mean is, I have a program that is the same but depending on the shortcut I would have it do something different. Example: (a different program) Here is a shortcut I have "C:\Program Files\EFI\PSI\Psmain.exe USER=Shipping,COMPANY=B" the Variables would be User=Shipping & Company=b How Can I do this? KaFu
$CmdLineRaw contains 'USER=Shipping,COMPANY=B', split that string accordingly. ,or switch to a usage like: "C:\Program Files\EFI\PSI\Psmain.exe USER=Shipping COMPANY=B" $CmdLine[1] = 'USER=Shipping' $CmdLine[2] = 'COMPANY=B' ,or switch to a usage like: "C:\Program Files\EFI\PSI\Psmain.exe Shipping B" $CmdLine[1] = 'Shipping' $CmdLine[2] = 'B' Search for "Command Line Parameters" in the Help-File. SpookMeister
This is all assuming that PSmain.exe is the compiled autoit executable you are coding. Helpful tips:If you want better answers to your questions, take the time to reproduce your issue in a small "stand alone" example script whenever possible. Also, make sure you tell us 1) what you tried, 2) what you expected to happen, and 3) what happened instead.Useful links:BrettF's update to LxP's "How to AutoIt" pdfValuater's Autoit 1-2-3 Download page for the latest versions of Autoit and SciTE
<glyph> For example - if you came in here asking "how do I use a jackhammer" we might ask "why do you need to use a jackhammer"<glyph> If the answer to the latter question is "to knock my grandmother's head off to let out the evil spirits that gave her cancer", then maybe the problem is actually unrelated to jackhammers

SpookMeister
Re-reading the question... is there any other assumption possible I don't see ?I just worried that by this line:Example: (a different program)He might have meant that he wanted to grab the parameters that were sent to a different executable... to which the answer would be... "I do not think so".Your answer was most likely on the right track. eagle4life69
No the original thought was correct. I am writing my programs with the front GUI's being the same but it can do different things. I used the other program as an example, Thanks I will give it a shot to see what I get
