pillbug
This should be a fairly simple question. I'm sure it exists. I know in SciTE you can perform unix commands in the interactions section. I would like my program to write unix commands to this window and then perform them. here is a simple example: $test="http://www.google.com" ConsoleWrite("Wget -r -l1 " & $test) Write now it is writing the code. How do I make it run?

How do I make it run? Are you talking about a call to cygwin while running on Windows, or are you running the Scintilla editor on *nix? Valuater's AutoIt 1-2-3, Class... pillbug
Are you talking about a call to cygwin while running on Windows, or are you running the Scintilla editor on *nix? Sorry, I am a bit confused by what you mean. I just want to be able to send commands to something like the command prompt that will execute my unix commands. Currently I am running the program from the editor. I was just wondering if there was a way without having to open the command prompt through Run(@Comspec) and send code to that. SpookMeister
I believe that Run(@comspec & " /c whatever") is what you are going to find works best... but perhaps you could explain more about the "running unix commands" that you are talking about, we might have better answers if we had better understanding. Edited March 4, 2009 by SpookMeister Helpful tips:If you want better answers to your questions, take the time to reproduce your issue in a small "stand alone" example script whenever possible. Also, make sure you tell us 1) what you tried, 2) what you expected to happen, and 3) what happened instead.Useful links:BrettF's update to LxP's "How to AutoIt" pdfValuater's Autoit 1-2-3 Download page for the latest versions of Autoit and SciTE
<glyph> For example - if you came in here asking "how do I use a jackhammer" we might ask "why do you need to use a jackhammer"<glyph> If the answer to the latter question is "to knock my grandmother's head off to let out the evil spirits that gave her cancer", then maybe the problem is actually unrelated to jackhammers

After playing withit, it seems the command doesn't work while an autoit program is also running. I will stick with the command prompt.Thanks.
