Wildcards for Filemove or Filecopy

Recommended Posts

I want to move or copy a file 'prefs.js' over into user's Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\random.default/ dir.

The random being a mix of letters and numbers for each user's profile.

I thought a simple Filemove:

FileMove('\\server01\apps\misc\firefox fix\prefs_test.js', 'n:\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*default', 1)

would do, but this is not working - can someone tell me how to state the *default directory ? - The name is always a mixture of letters & numbers with a .default at the end:

eg:

vjlpghon.default

wj7k8si8.default

Where am I going wrong with the wildcard ?

You can't use a wildcard in FileMove() or FileCopy(). They need a fully qualified path.

This should work.

$sBase = "N:Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\";;  Why not just @AppDataDir & "\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\" ??
$sPath = ""
If FileExists($sBase) Then
   $sSearch = FileFindFirstFile($sBase & "*.default")
   If $sSearch Then
      While 1
         $sPath = FileFindNextFile($sSearch)
         If @Error Then ExitLoop
         If NOT StringInStr(FileGetAttrib($sBase & $sPath), "D") Then ContinueLoop
         $sPath = $sBase & $sPath
      Wend
   EndIf
   FileClose($sSearch)
EndIf
If $sPath Then FileMove("\\server01\apps\misc\firefox fix\prefs_test.js", $sPath & "\prefs_test.js", 1)
