Updating Input boxes

I'm sure I've seen this done - but I can't work out how...

I have three variables; $input, $button and $browse (and $msg)

If I use this code (slightly over simplified...): how do i get $input to update itself with the result of $Browse

GuiCreate ("shizzle")
   $Input = GuiCtrlCreateInput(""); I tried setting this to $browse, but that doesn't work
   $button = GuiCtrlCreateButton("Browse")

Guisetstate()

While 1
$msg = GuiGetMsg()
Select
Case $msg = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
ExitLoop
Case $msg = $button
$browse = FileOpenDialog ("Browse", "C:\", "All Files (*.*)")
endselect

to clarify: you need to be able top type in responses aswell as browse, and it needs t update the box so the item can be seen and edited.

could I put something in the case after fileopendialog to update $input??

mdiesel,

You will have seen it in the Help file under GUICtrlSetData.

So I want:

GuiCreate ("shizzle")
   $Input = GuiCtrlCreateInput(""); I tried setting this to $browse, but that doesn't work
   $button = GuiCtrlCreateButton("Browse")

Guisetstate()

While 1
$msg = GuiGetMsg()
Select
Case $msg = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
ExitLoop
Case $msg = $button
$browse = FileOpenDialog ("Browse", "C:\", "All Files (*.*)")
Guictrlsetdata ($input, $browse)
endselect

I skipped over the control update when i was reading through - that's probably why...

sorry for the stupid questoin

$GUI = GUICreate("Simple browse",400,30)
$INPUT = GUICtrlCreateInput(@ScriptDir,5,5,365,20)
$BROWSE = GUICtrlCreateButton("..",375,5,20,20)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW,$GUI)

While 1
    $MSG = GUIGetMsg()
    If $MSG = $BROWSE Then
        $FILE = FileOpenDialog("Select",@ScriptDir,"All (*.*)")
        If Not @error Then
            GUICtrlSetData($INPUT,$FILE)
        EndIf
    ElseIf $MSG = -3 Then
        Exit
    EndIf
    Sleep(20)
WEnd
